The Von Dutch brand, almost 100 years of history
Von Dutch was born in 1930 on the initiative of Kenneth Howard, its creator, recognized then for his custom talent since he developed “Pinstriping” on an impressive number of American bodies. The name of the brand comes from the expression “stubborn as a Dutchman” due to the stubbornness of the tall blond Kenneth. The flying eyeball quickly became the emblem of the brand which represents a lifestyle in its own right composed of non-conformism and freedom.
Von Dutch is still A'Live
A 65 years old, in 1992, Kenneth Howard died without letting the brand die with him. Stickers stamped Von Dutch is still A'Live will then appear everywhere. The brand will continue to live on and will even return to the forefront, driven by the enthusiasm of celebrities like Madonna, Kylie Jenner and Justin Timberlake. The brand will even be bought by Christian Audigier before being taken over by the Royer group.
Von Dutch does not change
