The Schott NYC Perfecto P617H Jacket in Detail
Made in the United States, the Perfecto P617H is made of Shinki-Hikaku horse leather, renowned for its exceptional quality, called "Cordovan". This leather, vegetable tanned for more than 10 months in Japan, in one of the most renowned and prized tanneries in the world, offers a "teacore" finish that patinas over time, revealing a deep color and a unique luster. The jacket has a regular fit and an asymmetrical zip closure without a coin pocket, for a clean look. The leather, with a thickness of between 1.1 and 1.3 mm, benefits from great flexibility thanks to its prolonged treatment.
The snaps are hidden under the collar and lapels, and there are gussets on the sleeves. The Conmar brand zips demonstrate a particular attention to detail in this product imbued with American know-how. It has an inside pocket and three outside zipped pockets. The wool lining features a sumptuous Glen Plaid check pattern, made from so-called "Deadstock" fabrics, unsold fabrics that have been sitting in reserves or warehouses for a while. Horsehide is a fairly rare hide. It is found, most of the time, on jacket models exclusively made in the United States such as the historic Schott N.Y.C.
Very thick and above all very resistant, the horse leather models are easy to maintain.
